Haya & Talal
A Bliss of Cosmopolitan Stature
A successful long distance relationship is the fruit of open communication and more importantly patience. Admittedly, these pillars don’t only apply to romantic endeavors as they affect professional couplings just the same. This is why, the moment our overseas collaboration with Haya and Talal kicked off, we made sure to stay in close contact with our bride and groom.
Originally from Egypt and Lebanon, Haya and Talal are the perfect embodiment of a cosmopolitan couple that isn’t afraid to break barriers. Given that the Matisse Events team was also handling their pre-wedding party, we made it our mission to throw them a wedding weekend for the ages.
With over 100 years of rich history, the Donna Maria Sursock residence in Sofar made the perfect venue. The villa, built in 1909, is known for its rich architecture and for hosting countless worldly travelers throughout the 1900s. How did we inject the couple’s spirit into this grandiose location? Simple, we too weren’t afraid to break barriers. As a start, we laid endless rows of white tables across the estate’s grassy courtyard. For the seating, we went with baroque chairs made out of pale carved wood. To introduce complementary pops of color, we arranged rows upon rows of pink and orange flowers, which we topped off with bright fruits and drops of flashy furniture. By the end of our preparations, the venue looked like something out of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.
When the wedding day rolled around, we made sure to provide the newlyweds’ global list of guests with first class transportation to the venue. Upon arrival, they enjoyed a relaxing welcome drink, while swaying to the catchy rhythms of JLP. In true offbeat fashion, Talal made his entrance to Led Zepplin’s “Immigrant Song”. Not before long, Haya met her groom accompanied by a grandiose Zaffe that got each attendee on their feet. The festivities didn’t stop all through the night with a line up of international toasts given in honor of the couple. When it was all said and done, Haya and Talal got to celebrate their union surrounded by cosmopolitan guests from this century and the one before.
