Maria & Mihi
Maria and Mihi fell in love in icy Canada, but when it came time to tie the knot, they decided to hold their celebration of love in warmer Lebanon, Maria’s homeland. Coordinating at a distance with the Matisse Events team over Skype, the two physicians were able to pull off the wedding of their dreams from across the Atlantic. Over the course of a few months, we built our own long distance relationship with the loving fiancés, founded on trust. When the couple finally flew in to the Mediterranean, everything was already set in place for them to make it official. The open-air ceremony was adorned with a unique pairing of oranges and olive branches there to accompany the bride on her walk towards her future husband. These unconventional decorations became the wedding’s custom signature, creating a sense of harmony and serenity throughout the day. Oranges and olive branches were illustrated on escort cards, as well as decorative placemats laid out across the rows of welcoming wooden dining tables, upon which guests broke bread in merriment. The groom who hails from Sri Lanka made sure to include his own personal touch. Under each show plate, guests could find a special message of love written in his native language. The couple made their grand entrance to the night’s festivities accompanied by a traditional “zaffeh” to the wonder and delight of their local and foreign guests. The unforgettable night was made even more memorable thanks to an enchanted photo booth that we filled with candelabras and magical fairy lights. As a final touch, we designed a custom made single malt corner that we placed right next to the dance floor. The groom and his friends lounged on surrounding vintage furniture, where they sipped on top of the line whiskey, never forgetting to raise their glass to the happy couple.
